Wincanton Primary School LEARNING TOGETHER, LEARNING FOR LIFE

Whitstone Hockey Tournament

On Wednesday 30th January we, as part of a team of 7, represented Wincanton Primary School in a hockey tournament at Whitstone School in Shepton Mallet.  There were five teams in the tournament from schools in the Whitstone, Ansford, Sexey’s and King Arthur’s Secondary Schools area.  We won our first match 5-1. Then we did not lose a game until we were at the last game of the tournament, when we lost 2-1 to Castle Cary Primary School.  We went off and waited whilst the staff added up the scores.  We were really excited and nervous because we knew the scores were close between Keinton Mandeville and our team; it went down to goal difference because we had tied on points.  Eventually we went on to win the tournament by one goal; we were the champions!  We raced back to school to tell the teachers.
A big thank you to the two parents who too us to the tournament Mrs Butt and Mrs Ashford.
