pre-school - school liasion

WELCOME TO WINCANTON PRIMARY SCHOOL

Over the coming months there will be various events for you and your child to enjoy, to aid the transition between pre-school and starting school. It provides an opportunity for you and your child to familiarise yourselves with the school and enjoy the fun activities together.

PLAY TO LEARN - Thursday 26th June ( times as detailed in your personal letter, please contact the school office if you are unsure).

This is a fun session for your children to meet others who are starting school and to give parents an opportunity to learn more about the Foundation Stage Curriculum over a cup of coffee.

STORY TIMES

Your child is invited to enjoy a story at school

from 2.50pm - 3.10pm. on the following dates:-

Monday 16th June

Tuesday 24th June

Wednesday 2nd July

Thursday 10th July

When attending these story sessions please come to the main entrance at 2.45pm. One of the Reception teachers will collect the children. They are welcome to attend all or just some of the sessions.

EVENING MEETING FOR PARENTS - Thursday, 3rd July

This meeting is designed to enable you to meet your child's teacher and to inform you of the admission timetable for September and to answer any questions you may have . You will be able to pick up 'handy hints' on making your child's transition into school a happy one.

TOY AND BOOK LIBRARY

From May7th on Wednesday afternoons between 2.15pm - 3.00pm you and your child are invited to come to school and borrow books/puzzles etc. from our special library. We have a range of material that children may borrow in the weeks before they start school. This, again, provides an opportunity for the children to become familiar with the school surroundings.
